Long after I leave

How many times I've wished
I didn't do certain things
On good days I believed
The bad things weren't that bad
I struggled so hard to present a happy face
Determination has never been my forte
But I've honestly tried my best

Yes many questions about my life will never be answered
But eternity is a mystery
Mystifying yet perplexing
Maybe the answer lies in casting aside doubts
And focusing on beliefs
But weak is my faith
And you probably can't see

Bewildered, lost, frantic
Searching for that little ounce of courage
To stand up once again
Maybe you won't
But remember me this way
The girl who lived to love

The facets of life offer painful lessons
At times I feel defeat
Once in a while I triumph
But it is comforting to know
That when the storm is over
I will see the rainbow that is meant for me
Prisms of hope that I hold so dear
Maybe one day... I will live again..
